COUNCIL REPORT
Councilman Tommy Overcash brought the Board up to date on
recent Council activities, as reported in today’s Huntsville Times. He will prepare a brief written summary for
future inclusion with our minutes.
OLD BUSINESS
- Jim
Terry had volunteered to help on proofing the Covenants that were retyped
into soft copy. In Jim’s absence, Phyllis Goldberg and Judy Hurst have
been helping Paul proof the retyped pages. As of today, only 6 pages
remain. Once the review is completed, the document will be posted on the
website along with the By-Laws.
- The
Maintenance Committee continues to follow up on the water leak in our
irrigation system. The leak up front might be under the road, so the work
could be extensive.
- Mike Johnson has decided to continue his
job as Webmaster.
- The Board voted unanimously on 03/06/06
to approve Mark Wilson, a past Treasurer and President, as our new
Treasurer.
- Mark Wilson, the author of our database,
has agreed to update the database engine, giving us a user-friendly system
with improved reporting capabilities. Once this has been completed, the
Board will be reviewing the data to ensure that it is correct.
NEW BUSINESS
- Phyllis
Goldberg brought up the problem of insufficient lighting at night around
the median at the entrance to the subdivision. The Maintenance Committee
will look into possible alternatives to solve the problem, such as solar
lights, reflective paint, road reflectors or low voltage electric lights.
- Lois
reported that the bank check signing card will be updated to include Mark
Wilson’s name.
- A
request was reviewed for a new sign to be made up that can advertise our
annual community yard sale. The
Maintenance Committee will arrange to get a sign reading “Community Yard
Sale Next Saturday”. This generic
sign will be posted at the front entrance every year.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 PM.
